Article, text, and PDF input requirements
Check supported formats, the 30-page PDF limit, file size, and text length before importing.
Supported input types
- A public article URL that opens without signing in.
- Text pasted into the source form.
- A text-based PDF with 1–30 pages.
Input limits
PDF files can be up to 15 MB. Extracted or pasted source text must contain 80–120,000 usable characters. For a longer article or report, choose a section and include enough context to preserve its meaning.
Not supported
- Scanned or image-only PDFs; OCR is not included.
- Encrypted or password-protected PDFs.
- Webpages behind a login or paywall.
- Video input or automatic reconstruction of charts from images.
When a webpage cannot be read
Choose Paste text and add the article’s main text. Some public sites block automated access or build their pages in a way the importer cannot read. CarouselDraft does not bypass access controls or fetch internal network addresses.
Check PDF reading order
Compare the extracted paragraphs with the PDF, especially for columns, captions, and tables. Page references help you find the original text, but complex layouts can still produce the wrong reading order. Paste a clean text version if necessary.
Check the source before creating an outline
Copy a sentence from a PDF to confirm it has selectable text. For notes or a newsletter draft, paste a complete explanation rather than a short topic label. Remove private information and keep any definitions, dates, and qualifications the AI draft will need. Original paragraph and PDF page references remain available after you accept the outline.
