Data retention

How long projects, generated files, operational records, and backups are kept.

Projects and reusable images

Saved projects, extracted source text, slides, and brand settings stay in your account until you delete them or delete your account. We do not automatically delete a saved project simply because its trial or subscription expires. Keep your own archive of work you need. Uploaded PDFs are processed to extract text and are not stored as original files.

Deleting a project removes it from the workspace and queues its associated export files for removal. Reusable images remain in the separate account library until you remove them. An image that is still referenced by a project, brand, or saved task must be unlinked before it can be removed.

Export files

Generated PDF and PNG ZIP files are kept for 7 days. After file expiry, you can recreate the same successful saved version without another export allowance. This requires the project, its saved task version, and any referenced images to remain available. Editing the project and exporting a new version uses a new export allowance.

Deletion and sign-in records

Account deletion requires a recent sign-in, confirmation of your account email, and no active task or subscription. It removes active account and project records and queues private files for deletion. The worker normally processes deletion and expiry queues within a few minutes while the service is healthy; removal can take longer during an outage. Expired verification codes and sign-in sessions are removed during routine cleanup.

Operational records and backups

Operational service logs are kept for up to 30 days. Rate-limit records are removed after expiry and routine cleanup. Restricted disaster-recovery copies may retain deleted information for up to 30 days and are not used for normal workspace access. Backups are separate from the active service, so deleting a project does not immediately erase every backup copy.

Provider and payment records

Stripe and other service providers may keep records under their own policies and legal duties. Deleting your CarouselDraft account does not delete a payment-provider invoice or cancel a subscription.
